How to Complete Your

Background Checks

 

You will need to complete your background check authorization with Sterling Volunteers. Sterling Volunteers will ask you to create a login with them, which will allow you to share your background check with other organizations, potentially saving you money when you volunteer elsewhere in the future. *Please refer to the BACKGROUND CHECK INSTRUCTIONS that were included in the volunteer application.

  1. Visit the Sterling Volunteers website.

  2. Complete the fields to create an account and click "Submit."

  3. Click "Get Verified."

  4. Input the Corresponding "Good Deed" code.

    • Advanced/Level 2: For Volunteers Not Working Directly With Survivors - Use Code: dhofni2

    • Complete/​Level 3: Volunteers Who Desire To With Survivors - Use Code: 91urenw

  5. Complete the Form and Submit.

*You will be notified by Freekind once your background check has been approved.
